Bringing together complete strangers in an effort to chase the dream of finding and running a legitimate online business is what online business mentoring relationships are all about. In many cases these mentoring relationships are part of a multi level marketing (MLM) approach and designed to teach and train new affiliates how to make a go at running their business and turning it into a profitable enterprise in a short time.

 

In other cases it is the legitimate online business mentoring relationship that forms between members of a niche that seek to help one another out of altruistic concern for one another. The premier group in this case would be business moms who are seeking to eke out a bit of a living online while at the same time spending time, energy and resources devoted to child rearing. Experts have found that legitimate online business mentoring relationships are vital for the success of many a business. Since online entrepreneurship eschews the regularly scheduled paycheck in favor of a somewhat uncertain future, the help that may be provided by those who have been there, done that, and know where the pitfalls lie that must be avoided is a crucial portion of online business success.

 

At the same time, there is little doubt that such relationships also provide another, often disregarded, aspect of the online marketing experience: encouragement. When faced with challenges and the temptation to just shuck the whole thing, the voice of reason that might help an individual to get over a temporary setback and press on is most valuable and there are few that do not believe in the power of legitimate online business mentoring.

 

In some cases the mentoring relationships are fee based, and thus mentoring itself becomes a legitimate online business. The depth of the advice offered varies. There are those relationships that are more like a consultant offering input to an entrepreneur about the viability of a business decision. Conversely, there is the opportunity for a much more personal experience that becomes more of online friendships that combines the aspects of professional advice with personal encouragement and also follow-up.

 

It has been suggested by some that true entrepreneurial spirit requires little mentoring, but this is a fallacy that is far too often propagated by those who fail to recognize the value in a support system. Instead, the networking opportunities which are inherent in mentoring relationships and also the advocacy that takes place when more experienced marketers warn away newbies from potentially disastrous business decisions more than explain the inherent value in this kind of setup.

 

At the same time, failure to make the most of such relationships makes online business more difficult than it truly has to be. If the latter is the case, it might explain the documented cases of online entrepreneurs consistently abandoning one business opportunity for another, sometimes to the tune of going through six to eight such setups over the course of a 12 months period. Obviously, making a profit is not possible.
